Love p.1: The enigma defined

"Love is a commitment to an imperfect person before it is a feeling!"

"Commitment is more than Involvement, Deciding to take the action of love is.........."

"It is never hypocrisy to act as you earnestly desire to feel......."

Above are three quotes from Lee Ezell on a message about Porcupine People i.e people that are hard to like........Think of a porcupine and getting close to it, you get the picture.

So what is love, I find myself in this conversation often nowadays, probably because I am trying, desperately trying to understand what it is. So in this section going to look at love from the dictionary, the life giving Word of God and other sources.

First lets look what the Word and its definition for this enigma.

1 Corinthians 13v4

4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, 5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, 6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
