How do you measure a year?

525,600 minutes, 525,000 moments so dear. 525,600 minutes - how do you measure,
measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee. In
inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. In 525,600 minutes - how do you
measure a year in the life?
How about love? How about love? How about love? Measure in love. Seasons of
love.

No this is not one of those mushy mushy blogs about love yadda yadda, but i was watching RENT the movie! Im sure when some of you read that word rent u were tempted to close the blog but bear with me here. So anyway RENT (ohh i said it again) is this musical about friends and some guy filming something, well a film (didnt finish it i fell asleep). So anyway at the beginning of this "film" there's a company (of singers-had to clarify for some of the slow ones), and their singing this song which is actually called "Seasons of Love" i thought it was called "how do you measure a year?" anyway. Ive posted the first verse of the song and it really did make me think How do I measure a year?

I had never considered that before and im not the new year resolution kinda guy. It poses a whole lot of questions, and some have easy answers and some dont, heck some dont even have answers?

How do you measure a year?

That Movie is WHACK WHACK WHACK, my gosh, i recommend no one watches it unless you're not paying for it, my goodness it really puts musicals to shame and Taye Diggs..what the ...is he doing, my goodness, i'm sure his rep. went down big time, I thought the whole thing had no story line, its just ridiculous..I put it in the league of Pink Panther, my goodness Beyonce...

Sorry, to be a movie crtic on your blog, but that movie is sooooooooo not serious!!

But, I must say How you measure a year is quite deep, I think sometimes we just don't think about it, I haven't really thought about reviewing my year so far, and before and how i measured it, how I measured love lost and gone, great journeys near and far... I think there are many ways to measure a year, it just depends on you, for me I measure it through elevation..

Elevate..

as for how u measure a year, elevation is a good one, come thru!! how i measure a year is in terms of wat hav i learnt and hav the lessons resulted in growth...which in essence i think wld be another way of saying elevation wldnt it?

Unfortunately I dont have a really cool meassure of years. I guess to me I live life month to month. Each month to me just has a different feel... Its a new chapter... But unfortunately as more and more chapters get added to the book they lose their distinction and blend into one larger chapter or book which i'd like to call a year.... LOL!!!

sweet ladies and young gentleman... come thru!! How do you measure a year oh my gosh such a good question... how do you measure a year? Its just occured to me i dont... i dont measure my years.... i'm thinking how do you not measure a year.. shocking!!!If i were to measure a year though it i would measure in terms of goals obtained, growth attained and oppotunities created .. it would also have to extend into battles lost, tears shed... good question bra..

Super T, I was going to say something along those same lines.

I too absolutely love this song, have loved it since my high school days when my friend and I used to listen to the Rent soundtrack together.

I LOVE all the songs...
but HATE the movie.

James and I were so disappointed when we rented it one night, expecting to have a great night in watching a lovely musical movie and ended up finishing it only because we wanted to see the end and it drives me nuts top watch half a movie.
